About #DefendNZ

What can I do?

Tell your MP

There are times in life when you can’t afford to sit on the sidelines. Times when it would be wrong not to take a stand, not to say something. Times when innocent people will be harmed and your country forever changed should you choose not to act, to look the other way.

We are living in one of those times.

The End of Life Choice Bill proposes legal assisted suicide and euthanasia in New Zealand. Parliament’s Justice Committee received over 39,000 submissions from the public and have published their report on 9 April 2019. On Wednesday 13 November 2019 the Bill will receive its Third Reading, when MPs will vote on whether this Bill should become law. We must urge our MPs to vote NO.

Thousands of Kiwis from all walks of life, concerned about the danger this Bill poses to our country and some of its most vulnerable citizens, have come together to #DefendNZ. Some of their stories have been told in a series of documentaries.

#DefendNZ is a grassroots movement, pulled together with the voice, support, and input of people across New Zealand – North Islanders and South Islanders; young and old; all ethnicities; and a full range of political persuasions. Thanks to all those who pitched in to crowdfund our documentaries. You can donate here at this supporter page. If you would like to contribute a large amount, please contact us directly.

We tell the stories people need to hear and present the evidence people need to see.
